Imagine my surprise!

Well - I have to tell you.... as much as I wasn't looking forward to weighing in this morning... I'm so glad I did! I can't believe I actually lost more weight, albeit only a little - but, honestly, I thought I had blown it. I guess it's a testament to the addition of exercise back into my daily routine...... it does make a difference (like we haven't all heard that before!).

Here's to next week!!!

Skinny Jeans class???

Oh yea, this is what I need!

Skinny Jeans Class

Actually, I am so lucky to be able to use the gym at work, along with the services of the trainers. Just today I met "my" new trainer - my previous one took a new position. Anyway, the new one, Chris, had me doing more than my usual strength training and weight lifting. I was doing lunges (ouch!) and push-ups (yes, 40 total) and sit-ups holding a medicine ball at arm's length.... I am psyched about all this because I know it's good to mix things up and give your body a push and a change once in a while. I think Chris and his lunges will get me off my plateau (at least I'm optimistic about it!)!!!

In October, we'll all have a little black dress / skinny jeans party. What do you say?

I’ve been meaning to pull together some resources that I love and find helpful and I hope you all do as well. Good luck to everyone in this challenge. We’re all in this together and the healthier we get those around us, the easier it is to stick with our programs forever! Best to you all.

Cheers! (with a reduced cal beverage please)

Nicole

Guilty Pleasures (no, not food)

OK, I will confess that watching "Ruby" is a guilty pleasure of mine. And sometimes "Bulging Brides" and "The Biggest Loser". In one way, it's comforting to see that people struggle with weight and habits and exercise. In another way, it's like a car wreck that I can't turn away from. How can people be so public? Beats me! This is about as public as I want to get!

Obviously!

http://www.more.com/2030/6429-my-50-lb--weight-loss

Here's an article about losing 50 pounds at age 54. Hmmm, a little older than me, and I don't have to lose quite that much.... but she basically says:

(A) Eat healthy and sensibly - and - (B) Exercise

Duh!

That's what I'm doing! I hope it keeps working!!!
